  Oh yeah, it's 2009...

2009 is here and I gotta' say that I'm pretty excited about the possibilities! I think of Jan. 1st as somewhat of a "reset button"...a new beginning for whatever area of your world you need it. I for one am completely out of shape and I plan to do something about it. Not for the sake of vanity, for the sake of my health! I love the luxury of working from my home...the downside? I have become far less active physically than I should be. And it doesn't help that the fridge is just a couple rooms away at any given time.

Looking forward to some Guardian activity soon. We have a do-able plan that will allow us to function without interfering with our "non band lifestyles" that we all now have. Watch this blog for future info!

Some random highlights for me in 2008 were:

The family vacation to Pensacola this past summer.

Seeing our home church enjoy visible growth!

Having Heather be recognized by the GB denomination as a forward thinking, high quality worship leader.

Seeing both Christian & Kaitlyn in an award winning High School Marching Band, while both are in middle school.

Increasing my working relationship with Integrity Music (and making some great friends in the process). Knowing the music is being used in Churches around the world and being a small part of the wheel is inspiring!

Discovering Seth Godin!

Discovering Twitter!

Starting a weekly "wangs night" with great friends!

Making some new friends this past year! I met some stellar folks in 2008.

Finally swallowing my pride and admitting during a checkup that I could be depressed. Wish I wouldn't have waited so long!

Guardian in Argentina. I loved being embraced by the fans as if we had never went away! Eugenia and all at Rock & Vida are world class!

Some random lows for me in 2008 were:

Madelyn breaking her arm in the spring... and then her foot in the winter.

Winding up in an emergency room this summer after getting severely dehydrated! Honestly, I haven't felt 100% since.

Having London Calling/The Ruled disintegrate.

Noticing that the "fat clothes" in my wardrobe were getting snug! ;-)

Not having enough free time to video blog like I used to!

Ok fine folks! Hope you have an awesome day!

True peace-

Hey Jamie, I've been playing "Staring Over" by Crunch a lot lately - seems appropriate :-)

Props on the depression thing, its not easy to admit you even MIGHT have it. My wife is bipolar, but once she got on the right meds, she got her life back (and met me!). I have generalized anxiety disorder, so my life isn't always roses either.

I had a pretty crappy year work wise, had to quit my job for my health (physical AND mental), but hoping and praying this year goes better. At least our country did some soul searching and elected the right man this time.

Sorry to hear about the Ruled breaking up...had no idea. Explains the delay, though. But at least we got some Myspace demos and another version of "Susan Chee"(!) out of the deal.

Hope you find another outlet for the songs YOU write. Crunch is great, but there's nothing like that Jamie hook - even if its "Peppermint Daisy" :-) Don't apologize for that record, I still love "Amy" and "Jesus Bumper Sticker" went on to great things!

God Bless you and your family this year!

Justin
